RARE ORIGINAL CULT FRENCH / MOROCCAN KILLER HEAVY / HARD ROCK / PSYCH LP ALBUM : VARIATIONS " NADOR "


The eponymous track , the sublime "Nador" (named after a town in northern Morocco) , is a folk instrumental that immediately evokes Jimmy PAGE's "Black Mountain Side" with its oriental sounds , though the addition of the darbouka on this track gives Variations a (tiny) head start over the airship when it comes to using instruments from North African folklore . Magnificent Arab percussion is added to the mix ...



The VARIATIONS quartet was made up of Franco-Moroccan Marc Tobaly on guitars , Isaac Jacky Bitton on drums , Jo Leb on vocals (backed up by MICK FOWLEY on three tracks) and Frenchman Jacques Grande (known as 'P'tit pois') on bass .
