VARIOUS ARTISTS Vinyl Junkie Country When this British compilation first hit the stores, it caused quite a flurry of excitement among contemporary country circles. This was the first baby from the brainchild of Tom Bridgewater, who has since become the source of some of the best Alt-Country found in the UK. It's the measure of his good taste that we know we can rely on every new release on his Vinyl Junkie lable to dispense the real McCoy This first release is also essential to fans of TOWNES VAN ZANDT as his "No Place To Fall" is not a lift from a released album but a track from the basement studio of GLR (Greater London Radio) from a session on Mary Costello's regular Saturday night radio show back in the 80's. I remember this show with great fondness as i religiously would tape all her shows so as  to collect all the sessions each week. Mary, being the partner of Wes McGhee, had access to Wes' book of contacts and was able to get the cream of new artists to apear on her show when they toured the UK. I still have all these sessions to this day. Four years ago when i was last in Texas, I was pleased to see Wes McGhee's albums filed under "Texas Music" as it mirrored my own decision to have Wes the only Englishman to be  filed with all my other Texas artists (That's an honor Wes).  If you have never heard Wes' Monterrey, make it top of your list of songs to hear before you croak. I have been buying on eBay now for many years and have over a thousand positive feedbacks. These are the first of very many items that i now want to sell. There is a reason why i have opened a new account with eBay to sell rather than use my existing account. I have in the last 6 months or so returned to my Christian belief. I want to follow what is scriptual in disposing of what, quite honestly, has been a bit of a millstone around my neck. One day i looked around at all the many thousand items that filled two rooms and came to a dawning realisation that i had no idea what 90% of all this stuff was. I mean, i could go and buy something, play it once, log it, and that was the last i ever saw of it. So, this has handed me a golden opportunity to turn around this situation into something positive. I'm not going to 'Bible bash' or 'rant and rave', I simply want you to understand my reasoning. With this in mind, i will leave it up to you to look up 2 sets of verses, if you want to. Matthew chapter 6 verses 1-4 explains my anonymity whilst Matthew chapter 19 verses 16-21 gives my explanation for giving the lot to the Haiti Lemon Aid Appeal.
