Verve Remixed is a long-running series from Verve Records that reimagines classic jazz and blues tracks through contemporary electronic production. Launching in 2002, the compilations bring remixes of legendary artists like Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan and pairs them with a Verve Unmixed release: another way of saying that the originals track here alongside their reworked counterparts. The series spans four main instalments, plus seasonal editions and a bonus compilation. Renowned names Diplo, Felix Da Housecat, and Kenny Dope contribute fresh takes on tracks like 'Sinnerman,' 'Spanish Grease,' and 'Cry Me A River.' The collection highlights the rich interplay between jazz's past and modern electronic influences, creating a diverse sonic bridge spanning decades.
