Description
Velvet Underground & Nico LP from 1967 produced by Andy Warhol, Verve Records V6-5008. This is the third version of the album jacket with the "torso" on the back cover airbrushed out of the picture. The banana has been peeled off of the front cover.
The matrix numbers in the deadwax are hand etched: Side one: V6-5008 SIDE 1 MGS-558 REV; Side two: V6-5008 SIDE 2 MGS-559 RE-1.
I purchased this record in 1967 and it is from my personal collection. It is not a reissue.
The record is in "NM" condition and was only played once; there is no spindle wear and the vinyl still has vibrant rainbow highlights; it has been stored in a poly lined paper sleeve since purchase (see photos).
The gatefold jacket is in "EX+" condition with no spinewear, cutout holes or ringwear (see photos).
I grade conservatively based on the following criteria:
“SS” Still Sealed – For the collector that demands nothing but perfection.
“M” Mint - a near perfect or unplayed record.
“NM” Near Mint - in factory fresh condition, like new.
“EX+” close to like new with only superficial signs of use that don't affect play. Will satisfy all but the most vain and demanding collector.
“EX” a used, reasonable copy. Shows slight signs of wear.
“VG+” There will be obvious signs of wear and the possibility a few skuffs and/or light surface noise between tracks or during quiet passages, but still quite nice.
