Description
This is an original 1st state copy of Velvet Underground's 1967 debut album. It is the superior MONO pressing, and the back cover has the original so called TORSO picture of a guy named Emerson projected upside down on the screen behind the band. (This cover would soon be banned because Emerson wanted royalty fees for being pictured. All unsold copies would get a black sticker over the picture, on the next pressing the Emerson picture was airbrushed away).

This definitely is not the copy you would want to spend hundreds of $ on because:
- The banana peel is missing
- Cover (VG): no shiny white, a lot of shelve and ring wear; 2" seam split on top; some foxing in interior; name written in interior
- LP (VG): has seen quite some hours of playing. Lot of scratches, silent parts play with crackles and pops, but no skipping or hanging. The superior mono mix is mostly still enjoyable.
Nevertheless: still a very collectable album and your chance to get hold of an ORIGINAL MONO TORSO copy for a reasonable price.
