Description
VENOM Black Metal UK NEAT RECORDS 1st PRESS EMBOSSED SLEEVE LYRIC INSERT
Venom, Black Metal.
1982 England pressed Neat Records stereo LP, NEAT 1005.
First issue featuring embossed sleeve and lyric insert. Unfortunately the poster is not present.
A fairly well played and enjoyed LP, but still in very tolerable condition.
Vinyl is still glossy but with a number of scuff marks and some very gentle scratches.
Playback a strong VG. Some low level crackle at run-ins, separator bands and the (very few) quieter parts of songs. A very few soft ticks, but no instances of more than two or three consecutive ticks. Generally the louder content which makes up the majority of the LP plays EX.
Labels are clean and unmarked but show a fair amount of spider trail marks at centres.
Plain inner sleeve has date code 10-82 for October 1982. The sleeve has been adorned with some rather comical penned comments and doodles to both sides but is otherwise sound bar some tan stains and handling smudges.
Lyric insert has a couple of tan liquid splash type stains at top edge else is tidy and uncreased.
External sleeve just short of VG. Overall light wear and rubbing, including pinchline creases leading in from edge areas. Some ringwear rubbing to both front and rear. A few very small and minor stain marks. The front panel has been used as a backdrop for writing. This is centred around the grey part of the head above the eyes. A block of text impressions is visible when the sleeve is rotated at certain angles. However, this is not really obtrusive in normal usage.
