jacket has a bit of chipping and edge wear, still quite presentable. vinyl has a two light scratches, but plays very nice.

Yet another in the long line of obscure avant-garde and experimental
albums to come out of France in the late 70's and early 80's. This one
features an interesting mix of styles.
The first of two Verto albums is a rather gloomy affair, with a clear
Zeuhl influence, probably because of the presence of members of the
Zeuhl band Potemkine. The mastermind behind Verto, however, is
guitarrist Jean-Pierre Grasset, whose guitar experiments remind me of
the German Kraut/Electronic outfit Cluster.
The electronic expermentations found on many tracks (apparently
achieved only with an electric guitar and effects, no synthesizers are
to be found on the album) skillfully mixed with influences from Zeuhl,
Jazz and Funk (the funkiness is particularily evident in the track
Locomo) makes the album a perfect fit in the Avanthead's music
collection, matching well with semi-electronic Avant-Prog albums such
as Art Zoyd's splendid Le Mariage du Ciel et de l'Enfer and with Zeuhl
albums, especially those of Magma, Eskaton and Potemkine. Listeners of
Krautrock might also find a whole lot to like in this album.
My favourite tracks are the opener Krig, a fine Zeuhl number, the
gloomy 18 minutes long Cluster-esque space trip Strato and the
peculiar closer TK 240 S 52, the track itself sounding as much as a
machine as the title implies (to be precise, it sounds like a
slowed-down recording of a snowmobile), but the other tracks are very
good too, and won't disappoint fans of Zeuhl or Avant-Prog.
I like this album very much, and I am tempted to give it five stars,
but I don't think it would be very reasonable. Nevertheless a very
good release, unfortunately very hard to find (it hasn't been
re-issued on CD). If you track it down, get it if you're looking for
an interesting and slightly different Avant-Prog album. Highly
