Description
This is an impossibly rare early prototype to show what Vogue records to come
would look like: The "A" side features a full-color, thick paper label that is glued
to a 10" black shellac recording of Dinah Shore and the Happy Valley Boys.
This is not pressed between shellac recording, it's a prototype of what's to come.
This was an item that was produced very early on to show to investors and
record stores. You will see that the illustration is the same as Vogue R771,
with one small variation - the time on the clock on the prototype
is less suggestive of romance than Vogue R771.
The condition of the affixed illustration is Mint. It is almost
certainly an item that has been handled with great
care by the founding members of Vogue, immediately before they
started pressing records.
FYI, I bought this in the 80's along with another prototype and and another
impossibly rare version of R710 that has a Don Large autograph
under the wax and just beneath the bells at the top.
I am liquidating a collection of (now) 35+ years, so I don't buy
stuff to trade. I'm passing on what I have bought for
myself over the years.
