Blues Climax ( Alan Franklin Explosion ) LP " The Blues Climax " HORNE J.C. 333-7 1969. This is actually an Alan Franklin LP that precedes the LP of the same title from 1970 (Horne 888) under The Alan Franklin Explosion instead of Blues Climax. VERY scarce and hard to find. Not listed in the guides. Liner notes and artwork on the back by him. Early unpolished versions of the tracks that consist mainly of him singing with his guitar and drums. (Or that is all that I could hear). Heavy on the guitar. The B side also includes some harmonica on the one track. Fairly nice condition. Shiny bright. Light surface scuff-scratches and streaks. One tiny dot like spot on one track that can barely be felt. Doesn't affect the play. I played it all the way through on both sides and it played pretty well on my equipment. Light wear and tracks on the labels. The cover has some surface wear and ringwear. Some scratches etc. One corner has remnants of stickers and this corner is darkened or stained. Wear around the edges and corners. Someone has marked out some thing on the back and written "Record No Owner" here. NOTE: The label tracks (the correct ones I think) are a bit different from the ones listed on the back of the cover. The back cover has listed two tracks:" I Am Loving You and The Blues Climax" when in fact, there is only one track on the second side " Climax" (entire side). Also the side one on the cover lists " The Wild Cool Dream Into The Third Eye " that isn't listed on the labels. The labels have:" Who Sees You Baby " and "Got To Make You Mine " not listed on the cover. 6 tracks instead of the five on the cover on this side. Tracks as listed on the labels:" A Piece Of Your Love, Say You Love Me At Last, Love Has Come Into My Life, Got To Make You Mine, Who Sees You Baby, Lay Your Pretty Head Down " And "Climax" on the second side. NOTE: I got some information online about the track listings and this info agrees with the tracks on my copy. VERY scarce record and HIGHLY collectible.
