Irving Fields "MELODY CRUISE TO VIENNA" LP Album
Original pressing released 1956, Oceanic Records (OCP 515)

Though the mesmerizing nightclub jazz piano of Irving Fields is exceptional, the real prize here is the uncontrollably delicious cover photo of a young, innocently wanton Kim Novak.

In an era of irresistibly tantalizing motion picture goddesses, NO ONE, and I mean no one, caught the camera's eye and kept it in a state of freeze frame like Kim Novak. Lusciously full-figured from the top of her silky platinum blond hair to the bottom of her hourglass-shaped body, Novak could effortlessly trump any nude or semi-nude cover model by just being full clothed. A genuine beauty with a husky smoke-swirling voice. Even Marilyn Monroe had to give it some effort, though she has the undying legend. Jayne Mansfield had to really try, as did Playboy models. But not Novak. She could look like a sex bomb after a three-hour workout.

The cover of this album demands to be framed and adored for the enduring work of cover art that it is.
