LIEGE LORD – Freedom’s Rise LP A defining moment in U.S. power metal, Liege Lord’s Freedom’s Rise is an essential slab of high-speed, sword-wielding '80s heavy metal. Originally released in 1985 on Iron Works, this debut LP established the band as one of the earliest and most formidable forces in American power metal, bridging the raw aggression of early speed metal with the epic storytelling of traditional heavy metal.
With shredding twin guitars, relentless drumming, and Andy Michaud’s piercing vocals, Freedom’s Rise delivers high-intensity metal anthems like "Wielding Iron Fists," "Vials of Wrath," and "Prodigy"—tracks packed with galloping riffs and battle-ready lyrics. While later albums leaned into a more refined, technical approach, this debut stands as a raw and powerful statement, heavily influenced by Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and early Savatage, yet foreshadowing the speed and aggression of bands like Agent Steel and Helstar.
Now reissued for a new generation, this cult-classic LP remains a cornerstone of '80s U.S. power metal. Essential for fans of Omen, Jag Panzer, Manilla Road, and Griffin
