PLEASE NOTE: I WILL ONLY GRADE AN OPENED LP NEAR MINT (NM) IF I CAN GUARANTEE IT HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED (i.e. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER). OTHERWISE, NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) IS THE ABSOLUTE HIGHEST GRADE I WILL ASSIGN AN OPENED LP.
OFF-THE-CHARTS-RARE COMPLETE original JE 36060 Terre Haute advance white label promotional first pressing on Epic from 1979 with NOTHING CAN CHANGE... THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO CLASH etched in the dead wax, original glossy black & white printed inner sleeve, bonus Groovy Times/Gates Of The West white label 45 and promotional stamp in the top left hand corner on the rear cover in gold lettering!!! LP is a gorgeous VG++/NM- with a few barely visible paper scuffs and 45 is a beautiful VG++ with the same. Cover is VG+/VG++ with barely a hint of ring. A high grade copy of this rarity in collector condition. You will not be disappointed. Now for the real reason you're reading this. Also included in this auction is an ULTRA RARE original in-store promotional poster for the LP from 1979. This was included in a collection I purchased many years ago from a former Apple Tree Records store employee in downstate Illinois with some of the most incredible promotional punk items I have ever seen. You can imagine my shock when I took this LP out of the sleeve for the first time and out came this poster. This was unquestioningly displayed in the store as it has a few small tape residue spots on the rear. Thankfully he was very careful when taking it down as there is not a single rip or tear anywhere on the poster and it's in beautiful condition. This LP was released in the UK in 1977 but didn't see a release on these shores until 2 years later albeit with a different track listing (Protex Blues was laughably deemed to offensive for sensitive American ears). A stunning first wave artifact by the only punk band that mattered. Don't sleep Clash collectors. You won't see another promotional lot like this again, particularly in this condition.
