Victims of Chance - Goin' Home Blue. PAMA Productions 1014 stereo 12" LP record album. Condition: Record is NM. Cover is NM in shrinkwrap with factory corner punch. Tracks: Rock & Roll Man / On a Mountain / Santa Cruz / Morning Blues / Up Tight / Going My Way / Music / Mama / Honey / Crash. Comments: (From Zosopat: Music of the Seventies web site:) This bunch came from L.A. Victims Of Chance is of minor interest to some collectors. The title track is very pleasant and accessible, but the rest of the album is extremely freeform and experimental (with lots of brass) and very much an acquired taste. They certainly had lots of recording freedom! Most of the material was composed by a guy called Johnny Kitchen who may have been in the band. There is a very strong Zappa influence here. PAMA Productions operated out of Sherman Oaks, California from approximately the late 60s into the mid-70s. In some cases their records were issued under the Jadale label, and other times only with a serial number and "PAMA Productions" sticker. Very little information is available on the studio, although it is known they released a variety of music formats from pop psyche, surf/hot rod instrumental, soul and R&B, to easy listening. It has been suggested they purchased original music from various artists, particularly based in Canada, and then issued the material under different names. Some of the artist names included Morning Reign, Velvet Strings, Spirit of '76, Metropole Orchestra, and Strings Unlimited. One web description of PAMA Productions theorized that less than 100 copies of each album was pressed. One thing is certain, this record is extremely rare and it is unlikely you will ever run across it again, and nearly as unlikely you will even find it in a web-based search.
