Description
I have up for auction an Album Set of 6 records (78s) on the bright red and gold Victor Red Seal Record label. It is Set M-383 by Elisabeth Schumann, Soprano accompanied by George Reeves at the piano and entitled "A Lieder Recital". Records include Wonne Der Wehmut, Mit Einem Gemalten Bande, Auf Flugeln Des Gesanges, Immer Leiser Wird Mein Schlummer, Sandmannchen, Der Tod Das ist Die Kuhle Nacht, Wiegenlied-"Der Kuss", Solveig's Song, Der Heilige Josef Singt, Schlafendes Jesuskind---These are on the first 10 sides which are a definite match, all saying M-383 on the label. The 6 record may not be correct as it is out of number order and does not say M-383. It is by Schumann with Reeves-Piano like the others and selections are An Die Nachtigall and Liebhaber in Allen Gestalten on one side and Loreley and Standchen on the other. Records are in very good plus to excellent condition, hardly any wear and scuffs and scratches are few, light and surface variety. Cover and inside sleeves in great condition as well and has the original 4 page typed paper booklet with it. Again, there may be a different 6th record that once belonged to the set, but in any case, there are 6 excellent records of Schumann regardless.
