[THIS WEEK, I’m offering several records out of a MINT DEALER’S STOCK of early ("Patents" and "Bat Wing") Victors. I just unearthed them in the course of my search for goodies for you. All are clean as can be, in their original dealer’s sleeves, untouched for decades. Some show signs of minor use, as if they were demos in the store. Others are pristine!]
THE NORTH CAROLINA MINSTRELS are at it again, whooping it up on a decidedly UN-PC record, which thanks to the time-traveling immediacy of the medium, is the unvarnished Real McCoy. In this four-minute digest of a whole Minstrel show, they do: "THE RAINBOW COON," "ALL COONS LOOK ALIKE TO ME" and "TAKE PLENTY OF SHOES."
On the flip side, GOLDEN AND HUGHES do the "Tambo" and "Bones" specialty "JIMMY TRIGGER, OR THE MILITARY HERO," about the exploits of an African-American gent inexplicably on the front lines in the otherwise All-White army. Billy Golden (1858 - 1926) was a minstrel from his youth, and remains one of the most authentic voices of the genre.
This twelve-inch 1912 "Patents" Victor 35307 is in immaculate E++ condition, in its original store-stock sleeve.

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value. I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will! Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.” I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
