On labels:
? 1996 Sony Music Entertainment Inc. his was the album that introduced me to Nas and hearing his single hit "If I ruled the world" (featuring Lauryn Hill) is what put me onto him. Til this day this album still gives me chills as it did back in my childhood days! What still makes me scratch my head is how most nas fans say this was when he fell off or "sold out", how? He made 2 acceptable/good single hits to gain a mainstream fanbase while still delivering street tales with top notch lyricism. If it weren't for his mainstream breakthrough myself along with many others would have went years on not knowing who he is. It's not like he dumbed or watered down his style & content (like a lot of artists today). If you ask me Nas was hungry on this album with nothing on his dinner plate and came with full force. This album is near flawless, with the exception of "Nas is coming" which I skip everytime. It Was Written, in my opinion is Nas best album while illmatic is still a marvelous classic of its own *INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING DONE THROUGH EBAY GLOBAL SHIP*  *HAPPY BIDDING!!!*
