'HEBRAIC MELODIES' LP RECORD
Up for auction is a very nice estate-find original release Mischa Elman LP record entitled 'Hebraic Melodies' on Vanguard Records with catalog and label number VSD 2137. It has the black stereo lab label, which according to vinylbeat.com is the first stereo label issued by Vanguard. I would grade the vinyl as Ex+ to NM- and I try to be conservative in my grading. It looks like it was maybe played 2 or 3 times then stayed in the jacket for its life. Included with the album and jacket are the original Vanguard paper sleeve and two Vanguard advertising/promotional paper inserts that are original to the record. The dead wax-or runout groove- has 'VSD 2137A-1S' and 'BB7' (with VSD 2137B-1S on the other side). The jacket I would grade as VG+ to EX-. It has some foxing around the edges. Also, there is a smudge on the front toward the bottom and another smudge mark on the back at the very bottom.
This is a hard to find all original Vanguard issue of one of the most passionate violinists ever. Please look at all photos.
