Up for auction is a nice copy of the self-titled debut album Violent Femmes, originally released in the U.S. on Slash Records (23845-1) in 1983.
-Guaranteed early '80s pressing, not recent reissue -Early "red script" Slash labels
-Original inner sleeve w/ lyrics -Vinyl comes in audiophile poly inner sleeve
Note: This is a genuine early 2nd state Slash pressing of this album from the early 1980s. Most copies you'll find on eBay are recent reissues or imports.
Condition: Cover looks very nice, still has its original shine. No significant ring wear on front or back, just some faint rub top middle on back. Seams are nice, no splits, just some light rubbing here and there. Corners are nice, a couple light bumps and rub. Very well preserved original. Grade: Excellent (EX)
Vinyl also looks very nice, still has its original shine. Side One looks very clean, but on Side Two under a strong light, a few superficial marks and hairlines show up, but nothing deep or serious--nothing that would affect the quality of playback. Also has a very slight storage warp that's hardly noticeable and does not affect sound quality at all. Spot played, the record sounds excellent--seems to have been played a few times but handled with great care. Very nice original. Grade: Side One: Excellent (EX)
