LP : Volker Kriegel – Inside: Missing Link

German 2 LP-set, original pressing from 1972 on MPS, 33 21431-1, first press with red MPS/BASF label and integrated extra-page (later pressings have the black label and no extra-page). The first 2 sides have the line-up with reeds, the other 2 sides have the quintet line-up.All Kriegel-compositions except for 2 tracks: Zanzibar is by Edu Lobo and was ft. on his great 1970 “Cantiga De Longe”-LP on ELENCO, in this version SIVUCA played the electric piano solo; Janellas Abertas is by Caetano Veloso. Besides these 2 latin-jazz tracks the album has dope jazz-funk, kraut-fusion, some more free “spiritual” moments and much more. Awesome soprano by Alan Skidmore and one of the rare recordings by the great John Taylor (on Electra Electric Piano), Indian flavours by E.Weber playing the Sarang etc.. Highly recommended rare first pressing. You can listen to most of the tracks on youtube.

Condition: the records look mint- to mint--, they play in mint- all of the time. 2 of the labels have small writing, see photo of back.

The cover shows wear on all corners, seams/spine are otherwise intact with just some rub in a few parts, front & back & inner with extra-page are fine with just slight shelfwear, there is one little stain inside the back-part of the cover ( where the record is stored, therefore not to be seen from outside ) ; overall vg.

Zustand: die LPs sind optisch in mint- bis mint--, sie sind akkustisch durchgehend in mint-. 2 der Label haben kleine Beschriftungen, siehe Foto von der Rückseite.

Das Cover hat Abrieb an allen Ecken, die Kanten sind ansonsten intakt mit leichtem Abrieb an einigen Stellen, Vorder- & Rückseite und Inneres mit Extrablatt sind sehr gut erhalten, im hinteren Inneren ( wo die Platte drin aufbewahrt wird ) ist ein kleiner Fleck ( kann man also von Außen nicht sehen) ; insgesamt in vg. alle Platten habe ich professionell gereinigt und angehört (meist ganz, manchmal in Ausschnitten). Kommen mit neuer Außen- & Innenhülle !

Grading & Cleaning:

• the record has been cleaned on my professional HANNL record cleaning machine

• after that I playgraded it (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN:TU-3 Super Fine Line ( please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment )

• I also visually graded the record in daylight, in normal artificial light & under a strong halogen lamp

• only an unplayed record is mint, the highest grading for a used record is mint- ! My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg

• cleaned records are stored in a new pro innersleeve and they are placed in a PVC protection-sleeve
