Detailed Condition Breakdown
1. Outer Cardboard Jacket (2nd State Paste-Over Cover)
Front Cover: Original 1966 paste-over Trunk slick intact over the original Butcher cover, showing the distinct paste-over slick ridge along the upper margin. Includes owner name "Carol Gill Myers" written in ink on the upper left area. Displays age-related toning/yellowing, faint ring wear along the top edge, light corner rubbing, and scattered foxing spots. A small piece of raised, hardened foreign debris is present on the right field, but the slick remains flat with no major peeling or deep tears.
Back Cover: Features RIAA factory code "3" in the bottom right corner (indicates printing by Modern Album Co.). Includes period owner name "Carol Gill Myers" written again in ink on the rear upper panel. Displays circular ring wear from long-term storage friction, shelf rub, and mild foxing spots along perimeter text.
Seams & Spine: Edges show standard shelf rubbing. Structural integrity remains sound with no full seam splits.
2. Inner Sleeve
Type: Authentic 1966 Capitol "Orange Swirl" (PE 12-2FL) advertising sleeve displaying contemporary 1966 Capitol LP releases.
Condition: Clean and fully intact. No split seams along the bottom or side edges. Minor age-toning along paper boundaries.
3. Vinyl Record
Visual Grade: Good (G) to Fair (strictly visually graded; priced for cover rarity).
Play Grade Limitation: Due to surface wear, playback is expected to feature noticeable surface noise, ticks, or crackle. Sold primarily as a collectible jacket pairing.
Surface Condition: Both Side 1 and Side 2 exhibit widespread visual scratching, light scuffs, and hairline swirl marks throughout the play surface. Notable marks include a transverse scuff line cutting across multiple tracks on Side 1 and a short surface gouge/tick mark near the Side 1 outer lead-in groove.
Labels: Original 1966 black rainbow color-band mono labels ("T-2553"). Includes bottom perimeter text with U.S. Patent No. 2,631,859. Labels show clean center holes with minimal spindle wear.
Dead Wax Matrix:
Side 1: T1-2553-F7 #2 [machine-stamped IAM in a triangle]
Side 2: T2-2553-F1 #3 [machine-stamped IAM in a triangle]
Technical Explanation: Cut using Capitol's Hollywood mastering lacquers ("F" code) and sent to Scranton, PA for pressing (indicated by the machine-stamped IAM inside a triangle and hand-scribed # mark).
Sold strictly AS-IS; Item will be shipped double boxed with 3 mil outer record sleeve, anti-static round bottom inner sleeve and the vinyl will be packed outside the jacket. Signature required upon delivery.
