Description

Van Halen 5150 1986 1st Press VG+/VG.

For auction is a great listeners copy of 5150 by American hard rock band, Van Halen. Their seventh studio album released in March 1986. It was the band’s first of four recordings with Sammy Hagar as lead singer who replaced David Lee Roth. Despite mixed reviews upon release, 5150 was a huge commercial success topping the Billboard 200 in the US making it the band’s first #1 record. It surpassed their previous album, 1984, which peaked at #2, never able hop over Michael Jackson’s Thriller. It was a Top-10 album in 6 other countries as well.

The album features three Top-40 hits that all charted on the Billboard Hot 100. “Dreams” and “Love Walks In” both peaked at #22, while “Why Can’t This Be Love” cracked the Top-5 peaking at #3. The single, “Best of Both Worlds”, was also a popular song. Now, 5150 is considered one of Van Halen’s best works and has sold over 6 million copies in the US alone. This copy is a 1st SRC Pressing.

Vinyl is play graded VG+. Barely any visible surface marks. Slight storage warp that does not affect playback. Plays with faint background noise if any. No skips or jumps. Please see pics.

Cover is in VG condition. Some minor shelf wear on corners and seams but no splits. Title is perfectly legible. A few small creases on front along top and bottom edges. Original inner sleeve with lyrics is included but a generic white die-cut one is used to protect vinyl. Please see pics.
