Description
PLEASE REVIEW ALL PHOTOS AND READ THE ENTIRE ITEM DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY AS THERE IS A LOT TO DESCRIBE!!
THIS IS A REALLY NICE COPY! THE COVER, LP and INNER SLEEVE ARE ALL IN VERY GOOD+ SHAPE!
IT APPEARS THAT THE ORIGINAL SHRINK WRAP HAS SHRUNK OVER THE YEARS, SO THAT WHEN THE RECORD IS TAKEN OUT OF THE SLEEVE, THE COVER CURLS OR BUCKLES(see photos). THIS IS NOT FROM ANY TYPE OF DAMAGE OR WATER DAMAGE, IT IS JUST FROM THE PLASTIC SHRINK WRAP SHRINKING OVER THE COURSE OF 45 YEARS.
THE ONLY REAL FLAW IS THAT SOMEONE WROTE THEIR NAME IN MARKER ON THE INNER LIP OF THE INSIDE COVER.
AND PLEASE NOTE: THERE ARE VISUAL SURFACE MARKS ON SIDE 1 / TRACK 1 & SIDE 1 / TRACK 4 THAT ARE UNFEELABLE AND DO NOT AFECT PLAY. THEY LOOK WORSE THAN THEY SOUND. AND THERE IS A NOTICEABLE "MANUFACTURERS DIMPLE" ON SIDE 2 THAT DOES NOT AFFECT PLAY.
IF ANY OF THESE MINOR ISSUES ARE A CONCERN FOR YOU, PLEASE DO NOT BUY IT!
THE COVER IS STILL IN THE ORIGINAL SHRINK WRAP WITH THE ORIGINAL "ROLLING STONES" PRICE STICKER STILL AFFIXED.THE SHRINK HAS A SMALL SLIT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FRONT COVER AND SMALL PIECE OF SHRINK TORN AWAY AT THE FRONT TOP RIGHT CORNER.
GOOD LUCK FINDING AN OPENED COPY OF THE FIRST PRESSING WITH THE 4'S MISPRINT THAT IS STILL IN THE ORIGINAL SHRINK WRAP! THIS COVER DOES NOT AGE WELL, BUT THIS ONE HAS BEEN PRESERVED IN PLASTIC FOR LO THESE MANY YEARS!
AS A BONUS I HAVE INCLUDED A Black & White PHOTOCOPY OF THE VERY RARE ORIGINAL HYPE STICKER FROM THE FIRST U.S. PRESSING. I like to add a PHOTOCOPY of the hype sticker, if I have it, as an added bonus as they are usually discarded and are hard to find.
Up for sale is one(1) Van Halen - Self Titled Debut LP from 1978 on Warner Bros. Records (#BSK 3075). THIS IS A TRUE FIRST PRESSING. This is the misprint label version with the number 4 listed twice on Side 1. There is No Barcode.
THIS IS THE SUPER RARE VERSION WITH THE LABEL MISPRINT WITH side 1 tracks being listed as 1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 5 instead of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
PLAY TESTED! I RECENTLY PLAYED THIS LP AND IT SOUNDS AWESOME, ESPECIALLY CRANKED UP!
The Vinyl is in Very Good+ condition, but has some visual surface marks that may cause surface noise typical with a Very Good+ grading. Even with a Very Good+ grading there is going to be a certain amount of surface noise. More noticible during the quiet parts.
Nice clean labels with minor spindle marks.
The cover is still in the original plastic shrink wrap and is in Very Good+ condition with typical wear from age, including, but not limited to corner dings, creases, crumples, and ring wear. There are no split seams. THERE IS A NAME WRITTEN IN MARKER ON THE INNER LIP OF THE INSIDE COVER.
This cover typically doesn't age well, but this one is in Very Good+ shape.
The custiom inner sleeve is in Very Good+ condition with wear typical with age including, but not limited to corner dings, creases, crumples, and ring wear.
The LP is now in a plain white sleeve.
I obtained this LP new in the 1970s at Rolling Stones Records in Chicago. It was gently played back in the day(I had other copies, so this copy got The Kid Gloves Treatment). Not played in many years.
I am thinning out my vinyl collection. This is the actual item you will receive. See the photos and judge for yourself.
