Description
Vinyl was play tested through Focal Elegia's and it played as NM. I numerically score the vinyl a 97 relative to very light surface noise at the start of the first track on the A-side along with a tiny bit at the end of B1. Beyond this the disc played perfect (as an aside if you don't know, 'Ice Cream Man' during the track opening section it sounds like Dave is a bit too close to the microphone, this is present on all the Japanese copies (I've had five so far) and to a lesser degree on the first US editions and this has been fixed on the remasters; I had to do all sorts of experiments the first time I heard it). A visual inspection reveals only the most faint marks and nothing enough to lower the grade to excellent. This vinyl is as perfect as you'll find.
The sleeve is scored as EX and is so close to NM. The driving issue is a discoloration spot on the back that really jumps out (it's to the left of Dave), it's not really big, like a bit more than the head of a crayon but it's there. Beyond that the OBI has some discoloration. There is no 'Japanese mold' smell (you'll know what it is if you've dealt with enough Japanese vinyl and if you haven't you'll know once you do). Beyond that there is very light corner wear. This having been said I am scoring the sleeve as a 92 which I feel is the top of the excellent spectrum.
Album will be mailed in a cardboard mailer between cardboard with bubble wrap. If you have any questions please let me know and thanks for looking!
