Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING - THANK YOU
This item is an album released in 1970 on Verve Records by The Velvet Underground entitled ‘The Velvet Underground & Nico’. Record label and number is Verve Records V6 5008. This album comes with the gatefold cover with a banana on the front cover that actually came with a banana peel sticker over the banana that could actually be peeled. Most covers have been ‘peeled’ with the sticker removed. This cover has most of the banana peel intact (see photos). Side A of the record is in strong VG+ condition with flaw being some surface noise at the beginning of ‘All Tomorrow’s Parties’. Side B is in VG condition with flaws being 5 hairline marks all in the same area no longer than 1 inch (some smaller) that cause an audible repeating clicking noise towards the end of ‘There She Goes Again’, throughout ‘I’ll Be Your Mirror’ and about the first minute of ‘Black Angel’s Death Song’. Clicking noise is not exceptionally loud but is noticeable. Record does not skip and record was professionally cleaned on a Nitty Gritty record cleaning machine. Record labels have very minor spindle wear (see photos). Gatefold cover is in VG condition with wear on the edges, spine is missing some of the title printing of the album, ringwear on the back of the cover, wear at the corners and four printed green stars next to some of the song titles inside the gatefold cover. Banana peel does have some tears and some small areas where the peel sticker is missing (see photos). Album comes complete with a Verve Records paper inner sleeve. See photos for song listings. Very hard to find this album with the banana peel sticker intact and is a great addition to your Velvet Underground / Rock LP collection! No reserve. Low starting bid. Money back if not satisfied.
