Gatefold with "close-cut" peel-able banana sticker
"MANUFACTURED BY POLYDOR K.K., JAPAN KA 8209 Y2,300" printed at the bottom of back cover, no barcode and lyrics sheet.

Rolling Stone Magazine: "A half-century on, The Velvet Underground and Nico remains the quintessential emblem of a certain brand of countercultural cool. Not the Haight-Ashbury or Sgt. Pepper kind but an eerier, artier, more NYC-rooted strain. Released on March 12th, 1967, the Velvet Underground‘s debut was an album that brought with it an awareness of the new, the possible and the darker edge of humanity. Sleeve: Gatefold thick card sleeve in generally nice all round condition, light signs of age related handling only. Banana sticker has slight crease. All sides, including spine remain straight and true, no real corner rub or shelfwear, light foxing on inside sleeve/vinyl pocket, graded EX- at worst, more EX
Labels: Black Verve label, light handling only, clean of any unwanted writing or sticker residue light signs of play only, graded EX
Vinyl: Retains its glossy sheen visually both sides retain their original glossy sheen and good grove distinction, clean; closer inspection (under bright light and a magnifying glass) shows a couple of small wispy faint lines only - graded EX towards EX+
Audio: Plays through clean with no problems , good audio separation, no pips, pops, skips or jumps, faint static on opening dead wax, lovely copy graded EX/EX+ (played on a Project carbon - blue Ortofon)
Please note: audio quality can differ from one pressing to another and unless you have two copies to compare it is sometimes difficult to know. Audio quality can also vary from one system to another and while I try to describe my audio experience it might not be the same as somebody elses.
I have tried to be honest and transparent in my description, photographs form part of the description. Questions are welcome, don't hesitate to ask. The few records I sell are either the results of upgrades, duplicates or a bit of thinning every now and again. I strictly adhere to the Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide using one + or - for addition guidance:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
