Verve V-5008, 1967, this is the original stock copy with Eric Emerson upside down torso, East Coast pressing, MONO!!!!!! Record has no skips; standard noise for an LP of this age; some soiling and wear with nick at left center of cover (see photo); comes with original record sleeve.
Side 1: V5008 Side 1 MG558 Rev Side 2: V5008 SIDE 2 MG559 Gatefold cover with banana sticker which is worn. Eric Emerson torso is on the back cover. This LP is autographed on the cover by the entire group: Lou Reed; John Cale, Sterling Morrison, Maureen Tucker, Nico and the record producer Andy Warhol. I doubt a dozen autographed copies such as this one exist. VERY VERY RARE!
Background: I bought this LP a while back. I did not personally obtain signatures. Here is the information I was provided: "This autograph came from the Estate of Clark Gesner, the composer and lyricist whose defining success was the 1967 smash You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Mr. Gesner (1938-2002) began collecting in 1956 when he obtained the autograph of Clark Gable. From there, he built a collection of more than 10,000 autographs. He obtained the autographs in person, from autograph dealers , or by mail. Mr. Gesner was a well-known collector and shared his collection with Brooklyn Heights area churches, schools, senior citizen groups and other organizations. " This item is 100% authentic full refund upon return if any signature is not authentic (3 members still alive who can validate own signatures).
I don't use "private auctions!" Beware of the numerous fake Warhol signatures coming out of Europe and now coming out of the US. Warhol did not use a 1950's type signature in the 80's. Beware of signatures on book pages for that VIP collector! (He must have signed thousands of pages for that VIP; soft of defeats the purpose of limited editions) Don't bank on the book page signatures being authentic! After the early 70s' Warhol signed just about everything with a felt tip pen. There are a number of serious Warhol collectors on eBay and you will never see us bid on that garbage.
