Velvet Underground - Self titled 3rd LP  1969

MGM Records #2353 022  SELECT - UK issue

3rd album by Velvet Underground.  

A glorious classic study in Low Fi pop.

A very influential LP for young bands from the 70’s to today.

This is a 2nd label UK issue.  Early 1970’s, based on these observations…  

Label states “Manufactured and Distributed by Polydor Records LTD for MGM Records”.  

Does not have the “Made In England “ line which came later.

The label does have the dated  (circle “p”) 1969 left of center like the first label editions.

You will see that our record is a 2nd pressing of the 1971 reissue, 

based on the matrix numbers we posted in the listing. 

Also note "Some Kinda Love" is a different take than the earlier issue.

Record in EX- condition.

Cover shows some shelf wear and the beginnings of a  1 1/4"top split

 - sticker residue front cover upper left.

Some ring wear.   VG- condition

Inner anti static sleeve has a split on one side.

We attempt to grade our vinyl according to Record Collector Magazine guidelines.

All records are play-graded.

MINT

The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in

sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster

are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.   

EXCELLENT

The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening

in sound quality. The cover and  packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.   

VERY GOOD

The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration

in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.

Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.   

GOOD

The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated,

perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from

folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.   

FAIR

The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable

surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
