Description
Here we have a very very rare Apple Records acetate 7" 45rpm record pressing by the actress Vanessa Redgrave. There is next to no information at all about this record, other than what I have gleaned from Apple and Beatles specialists who have contacted me about it...The general consensus is that Vanessa Redgrave cut these 2 songs to impress the producers/director of the 1960's movie musical "Camelot" and hopefully enough to get the part of Guinevere (which she eventually did). The two songs actually sound very folky and would not be out of place in the actual film itself, this is all just conjecture of course and based on reliable informants.
The acetate itself is in only Fair to Good condition, it looks good for its age...nearly 60 years old, and both sides have snaps and crackles but do not jump or skip..acetates by their pure nature, were only meant to be played a handful of times, so the sound is still pretty good, and she has a pretty good voice too!!
The Labels are typed and are clean and vibrant with no writing...there is nothing in the dead wax run-outs, obviously with the Apple/Beatles connection, is it too much to hope that these songs are written by Mr Lennon & Mr McCartney..who knows!!
