Record Visual Quality: Both sides are EXCELLENT
Record Audio Quality: The 'A' side sounds PERFECT with no jumps, clicks or crackle. The 'B' side sounds EXCELLENT with no jumps or clicks and just the very faintest of crackle in 2 short, very quiet passages plus one 'pop'. Without these I would also have described this side as PERFECT: All my records are machine cleaned and fully played/ checked to ensure the quality declared.
Sleeve Quality: This Brand Sleeve is Near Mint.
COMMENTS
Here is an excellent original mono copy of Kaleidoscope's fine, very rare, psychedelic, 1968 45, Jenny Artichoke. It is listed in the Rare Record Price Guide at £35. This band issued a number of fine psychedelic singles to great critical acclaim but with no chart success. They also issued two fine LP's with the same result. Eventually, in the 70's they changed tactic, moving into progressive rock and changing their name to Fairfield Parlour. Their legacy is several much desired vinyl discs that collectors search for worldwide.
Both sides of this disc were written by the band. Side 1's Jenny Artichoke has a nice rocking beat with lyrics and the vocal delivery broadly in the simple style of Sid Barret, e.g. 'Jenny Artichoke, She was oh so nice to me'. With added strings providing a classical element, Side 2's Just How Much You Are is a very elegant and fine song.
