Welcome to my auction for this rare and collectable Classical LP
 ASD 400



This is a rare chance to obtain this fine and sought after LP, which hardly ever shows up.

Featuring:

Prokofiev - 'Love For Three Oranges'

Rimsky Korsako - 'Capriccio Espagnol'

Khatchaturian - 'Gayaneh' Exceprts

 

I appreciate how important it is to have a FULL description of classical records, especially rare ones such as this one and for that reason I have taken great care to listen through and evaluate the playing condition of both sides of this LP. I have hardly ever seen this LP on eBay so I expect there to be a fair bit of interest. I do not believe in visual grading only, I play check and then give an honest review.

  ...So now to the condition...I am the original and only owner of this item and so I know it has been well cherished. The vinyl I would class as visually excellent and play wise I would say the overall playing quality is close to near mint, amazing clean sound quality and very nice glossy vinyl and plays beautifully. On Prokofiev's 'Les Ridicules' (the first section on Side 1) there is an audible tick lasting just 2 short single rotations which was there when I purchased the LP. This occurs at the 2mins and 5 seconds point...so if you know the music you can work out exactly where it happens. The sleeve I would say is very good+, due to its age the back has browned a bit. The spine is still very firm and fully readable.

As you can see from the photos, the record still has a very nice gloss.
On a track by track basis I would give the following grades.

Side 1 - Prokofiev 'Love for Three Oranges'
1 'Les Ridicules' vg (due to the 2 rotation tick)
2 'Scene Infernale' near mint
3 'Marche' near mint
4 'Scherzo' near mint
5 'Le Prince et la Princesse' near mint
6 'La Fuite' near mint

Side 2 - Khatchaturian
'Gayaneh', Ballet Suite / Dance of The Young Maidens / Lullaby / Sabre Dance (all play near mint)
Rimsky Korsakov 'Capriccio Espagnol' near mint

So to sum up then. Apart from an isolated two rotation audible tick 2 minutes into side 1 you have a near perfect LP, very playable, very rare and very desirable.
