Description
Here's another very rare R&B vinyl 78 by the ROYALS on Detroit's tiny Venus label. I've only seen two 45's in 44 yrs (yes, I've been lookin). Cuts from October '54 are Someday We'll Meet Again b/w I Want You To Be My Baby-Mambo. The record is a strong VG+ with only a couple tiny marks on the Someday side. The flip has a 1" squigly scratch, but overall it's a great copy that plays loud and clear. Labels are clean, the flip has a circle drawn around the title.
Lead singer Thearon Hill was with the 4 Tops for a short time in '59 /'60, and was on their Columbia label recordings.
This is the same group as the Roxy/SwingTime Musketeers, and the Serenaders that recorded for JVB, Coral, Red Robin, and DeLuxe. Heavy duty early 50's Detroit R&B group sound.
No boots, repros, or polished records. All from an old East Coast collection.
