Description
15th December 2010 – the day my daddy died
We lost him to a cruel and debilitating illness that robbed him of his memory and his proud and happy life.
In two years he went from a man with an engineering brain that worked within a thousandth of an inch
to a frail shell that didn’t even know how to put a coloured wooden block into a matching hole.
In the last few weeks of his life he couldn’t even hold a cup or feed himself, he’d lost all control.
To watch my father get weaker by the minute, and know that there was absolutely nothing I
could do to bring him back was the hardest thing I have ever had to do.
There are over 150 types of Dementia; Vascular Dementia is the second most common form after Alzheimer's disease.
There are two main types of Vascular Dementia: one caused by stroke and one caused by small vessel disease.
A third type is a mixture of the two.
No one is safe, and as I write there is no cure, Stroke, High Blood Pressure,
Heart problems, High Cholesterol, Diabetes, Sleep Apnea, Alcohol, Smoking,
Fatty Diet and Lack of exercise – can all contribute to Vascular Dementia.
Tablets help to control it for a while but only research can hopefully one day cure it
That is why, from now on, everything I sell on here will help raise vital funds so that hopefully one
day you don’t have to lose your loved one to this inhuman disease
