About This Record.  This is an original USA SERIOUSLY RARE copy of The Big Bopper's legendary LP entitled "Chantilly Lace starring The BIG BOPPER . . . HELLOOO Baby!"  Very few black label copies like this turn up, and this is nice enough.  I do not know anybody who has one of these, do you?  I have never seen another since I bought this 25 years ago.  Most were on the Red Mercury label (but I have only seen a couple of those as well).  If you can even find those now.  Yes, sad he went down with Buddy Holly in the plane crash.  This is really wacked out stuff.  Musta been a great concert, albeit the sad aftermath.

Cover Condition: STRONG Very Good Plus (VG+)  Mild corner rubs, no seam splits, age wear and a few dings (light) on spine.  Not so far from EX. Please see all my Photos.  I didn't take them for fun and frolic.

Vinyl Condition: STRONG Very Good (VG).  A couple of minor scuffs with ticks here and there.  Otherwise, little play. This is a keeper copy as these things go. Please see all my Photos.  I didn't take them for fun and frolic.

Labels. Excellent (EX) / better; light wear around the spindle hole.

Inserts: Comes with original Mercury Records Living Presence inner sleeve that features other Mercury Records recording artists, although the inner has many splits and tears. I rescued this and cleaned and put it in a proper sleeve decades ago.

Packaging.  I clean all vinyl on my KL Audio Ultrasonic Record Cleaning Machine and place it in a new innersleeve so the old dust does not reattach; but I also include the innersleeve that came with the LP if it is the original.  I separate the vinyl in its new sleeve after cleaning from the cover, and place the cover and the separately packed vinyl in at least one if not two plastic innersleeves that help protect against moisture damage during this cool records transition to your record collection.  I use sturdy carboard containers with real corners and pack with at least two insert stiffeners, and I place neon stickers on the front and back of the package indicating “Do Not Bend” and/or “Fragile” or something like that to help facilitate a safe passage.
