Description
Wow, check this out: a seven inch Victor announced record, #94, circa 1903. Harry Macdonough sings the famous song "The Holy City", with piano. Dramatic, beautifully sung version, quite enjoyable. The record plays well, with some surface noise. The guide book says Victor used this style label from May 1903 to January 1904. Price was 50 cents, same as Edison charged at that time for a 2 minute cylinder record. In 1903, many more people had cylinder machines than disc phonographs. This is early disc history, very rare, if this is what you like, do not pass it up!
