Description

Wow, check this out: a seven inch Victor announced record, pre dog label A-113.  The Haydn Quartet sings "The Chapel".  Very nice singing, quite enjoyable.  The start is a little rough, otherwise plays quite well with surface noise.  Victor started using this label in December 1900, so this is from early 1901: guide book says Victor issued record A-1011 by October 1901.  Price was 50 cents, same as Edison charged at that time for a 2 minute cylinder record.  In 1901, many more people had cylinder machines than disc phonographs.  This is early disc history, less than a year after the last Berliner 7 inch records!  Very rare, if this is what you like, do not pass it up!
