Description
Vin Cardinal, His Vibes & Orchestra – ‘Once In A While’ / The Georges Trio – ‘Rocky’s New Year Song’ – Cook 5935 (TT)
Exquisite version of one of the most beautiful songs ever written, Michael Edwards’ ‘Once In A While’, originally a huge hit for the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra back in 1937. This late fifties recording is by Vin Cardinal, a great vibes player and vocalist. After leaving Trinidad, Cardinal recorded for Motown and A&M, and became a much loved live performer in many corners of the world (lots of clips of the man to be found on Youtube). In any case, this is a great record, and insanely rare. Original T&T pressing from 1959 in absolutely gorgeous shape. Could go places with the right DJ behind it! Flip is a romantic seasonal outing by a vocal group accompanied by Vin’s band.
Condition: Excellent; wonderful copy considering its age (please listen to the clips). Clean labels (please see scans).

American bidders, kindly note that shipping to the US is not US $4.00; this is eBay’s default setting and not applicable as I am based in Sweden. Please wait for my invoice. Thank you!
Please note that like many other sellers of reggae and calypso on eBay, I’ve been the victim of so called ‘fake bidders’, bad minded people with no intention of purchasing the items they bid on and whose only game seems to be to ruin the auction for buyers and sellers alike. In the event that this record is won by a ‘fake bidder’, it will immediately be relisted. Hopefully this auction will be free from any such problems!
Happy to answer any questions!
Thanks for looking and good luck!
