Vintage 8-TRACK CASE + 20 Tapes -- Sam Cooke, Cat Stevens, Stevie Wonder, Heart

This lot contains twenty 8-track cassette tapes and a storage case designed to hold 30 cassettes.

Let's start with the storage case, which measures about 17" x 11-1/2" and is about 4-3/4" tall. It is covered in dark gray vinyl, which is in good condition but with some typical surface scuffing on all sides. The border metal strips around the lip and the cover are non-magnetic, possibly aluminum, but the hinges and clasps are  steel. The clasps have keyholes, but we don't have keys for it. On the inside, the cassette pockets are lined with some kind of red felt or faux velvet. The whole case could use a good cleaning, and the strip of felt that runs along the lid hinge has started to separate and needs to be reglued. There is also the name "Tim Ross" spelled out in adhesive letters between the two ends of the handle.

The 20 cassettes probably don't have a lot of value and are included primarily to qualify for Media Mail shipping. I don't currently have a working 8-track player, so they are all unplayed and untested, although they all have visible unbroken tape at their open ends, which is always a good sign. No guarantees, though, and also no guarantees as to the correctness of the labeling or the quality of the recordings.
