Description
THIS IS THE REAL DEAL!
This is an original authentic – Introducing…the Beatles,
Vee Jay LP1062 Version 2 in mono-phonic VG+ (1963-64) – very rare
It is in excellent condition and a keepsake for the person who wants the real thing (a lot of the ones on EBay are reissues and/or fake). One of the most sought after records of all time, and the most counterfeited record of all time.
A few of this albums marks of authenticity
- There is no brown border around the cover
- George Harrison's shadow is visible off to his right
- No red, blue or yellow printing dots are on back of the cover
- Has glossy front and back covers
- Record label has high definition rainbow border (including the color green - most rainbow fakes do nor have green)
- Record label has Introducing the Beatles and The Beatles above the center hole. (Though some fakes do have "The beatles" above the hole, the giveway to the authenticity is the green in the rainbow)
- Record ring marked with 6307X and 63-3403(side2) &63-3402(side1)
- Left justified song list on record.
Includes the songs: I saw her standing there - Misery - Anna - Chains - Boys - Ask Me Why - Please, Please Me - Baby it's you - Do you want to know a secret - A taste of honey - There's a place - Twist and shout
There is slight fading on the front cover, and a bit of folding on the bottom right corner crease but over all in great condition with all the binding in tack. The record is in the original plain white sleeve it came in, and the record itself is in great condition. The covers top right hand corner has owners name in small letters and record has owners name on side 1 in small letters.
The cover is valued at $100 and the record itself is valued at over $100 – but there is no reserve and will go for the lowest bid.
A great item for the collector and the fan

About Version two
Capitol's Beechwood Music subsidiary sued Vee-Jay over the inclusion of the songs Love Me Do and P.S. I Love You on Introducing the Beatles. Apparently, Vee-Jay did not have publishing rights to these songs from the beginning. When Vee-Jay continued production of this LP, Love Me Do and P. S. I Love You were replaced with Please Please Me and Ask Me Why.
Vee-Jay contracted six record pressing plants to pump out as many Beatle records as possible, resulting in at least 25 variations in record label and back cover designs in both versions of Introducing the Beatles. As with the original album, the release date of this reissue is not exactly known. The transition between the original and this version probably took only a few weeks.
