Vintage Photo Postcard RPPC NY Music Novelty Jazz Band

You are bidding on an Original Vintage early 20th Century RPPC Real Photo Post Card showing the "Novelty Jazz Band" from Richmond Hill, New York, near New York City, that may be an early image of the famed "Billy Arnold's Novelty Jazz Band". This Photograph shows five musicians with their instruments and has the penned name to the right side of "Novelty Jazz Band R.Hill 7452" which looks to be a phone number.  This postcard measures @ 5 1/2" in width by 3 1/2" in height, and is quite detailed. The condition is fair with the noted issues of corners and tape stuck to each of the four corners of the card from where it was removed from an album. This is one of several Real Photo Post Cards I will be listing this week so please check my other listings. This would make a great addition to any Jazz Musicians Collection, Group or Grouping.

Billy Arnold was an American pianist who was active in the New York area before he traveled to England to play dance music at the Hammersmith Palais de Danse (242 Shepherds Bush Road) in London in 1920. The band then headed for Paris in December of 1921. Arnold recorded again in the early 1930s as Billy Arnold et son Orchestre. When Django Reinhardt was just twelve years old he used to hang out in front of the l'Abbaye de Thélème resturant at Place Pigalle listening to Arnold's Band play. This was probably the first jazz that Django heard played live.
