""You Had to Be There" is a live double album by singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett. It was originally released in 1978 as ABC AK-1008/2. It is the first of Buffett's many live albums and his 10th album overall. This original 1st pressing promo vinyl print album includes a fold-out poster showing many photos taken during the 1978 tour.
The album's material was taken from several concerts in August 1978 at Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia, and Maurice Gusman Cultural Center in Miami, Florida. The album includes many of Buffett's concert favorites as well as 3 new songs that had not appeared on any previous Buffett album: "Perrier Blues", "Morris' Nightmare", and the instrumental "Dixie Diner" (a cover originally by Larry Raspberry & the Highsteppers).
NOTE: Side 4 is mis-labelled as "Steely Dan's Greatest Hits" but it really has JIMMY BUFFET LIVE side 4 (see pictures 18-19). Minor surface scratches from being slid in & out of the cardboard sleeves. Only played once! Very good condition otherwise. Includes original fold-out poster (see final/20th picture). Has a promo stamp and minor ding on upper right front cover (see 2nd & 7th photos).
