Description
Up for auction is this demo copy of Rod Stewart; Shake / I Just Got Some without the original sleeve. It will be provided with a new card sleeve.
I will try to describe the item to the best of my abilities but please be aware that I am not a dealer and therefore will not be able to properly grade the item. I will, however, give what I believe to be my best opinion based on previous experience. Plus I will add what I believe to be the closest grade at the bottom of this page according to Goldmine.
Firstly the vinyl has not been professionally cleaned. It has only had the surface dirt removed with pressurized air but it would certainly benefit from a deep clean.
The photos I have taken do not get the true condition of the vinyl as 'In my opinion' there is a lot of hairline scratches to both sides of the record. They are only visible under very good lighting so it is hard to get them to appear in a photo (even one which is running at 23 Megapixel). I would otherwise say that it is in good condition for its age.
I have played the record and it sounds pretty good. I have heard better but I have heard a lot worse. It does not jump or skip. 'Shake' sounds very good but 'I just got some' has a bit of crackling at the beginning which does fade but not completely. Also, please bear in mind that I tested the record with a pioneer hifi stack with a stock needle so if you have a decent needle it would sound much better.

I am going to grade this item as Very Good (VG) to Very Good Plus (VG+).
Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time.
The item will be sent 1st class signed for via royal mail. Returns accepted with valid reasoning (i.e Grading is not agreed by both partys)

A quick update as I have had a few questions. The grade description indicates that scratches may be felt with a finger nail but on this occasion I cannot feel the scratches. As you can probably see from the pictures, the scratches are very light.
