Description
Here we Have is A Vitaphone Type disc that is 16 inches across and is the soundtrack from Woos Whoopee starring Felix the Cat 1930. It was manufactured by Clark Phonograph Record Company Newark, New Jersey. The cartoon is about 8 minutes and 30 seconds long. This disc is played from the inside of the disc to the outside. The arrow on the disc is where the projectionist would line up the projector to synchronize it together for the showing. The disk will not fit on a regular size turntable. A friend of mine had a larger size turntable but it only played 78 RPM. We took the disc and recorded it at 78 RPM and then on the computer slowed it up to 33 1/3 RPM. We tried to clean the sound up a bit on the disc soundtrack. I made a DVD with this disc soundtrack we recorded, also on the DVD is the sound from the film soundtrack, The Woos Whoopee cartoon from 1930 and a song from Paul Whiteman, Felix the Cat from the 1920’s. I will include this DVD so you can hear the soundtrack from this disc, see the cartoon and hear the 1920’s Felix the Cat from Paul Whiteman. I am not an expert but the disc looks to be in good condition (See Pictures). I myself have discs like this and have framed them for my Home Theatre. Great piece of Motion Picture and Animation History.
