Description
Right ... first, the good news. This a VERY rare and original copy of the hard to find Viv Stanshall Men Opening Umbrellas Ahead Album from the mid seventies and this is. all original an' that. With the inner sleeve etc. I remember I bought it after hearing excerpts heard off the John Peel show .. a very amusing chappie from the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band .. as you well know. Nice .. if I d known how much these are worth then .. Idve bought a hundred copies and put them into cold storage! For thirty odd years! But now the not so good news .. you see Now then , when I bought this new in my youth 35 years ago .... I treated it like all my LPs then. IE Not very well. Consequently its not in A1 condition by any means. The records has fine scratches on both sides. ..So it will play happily enough but unless you have good computer software to filter out the inevitable pops and ticks that will ensue if you put it on the turntable then I cannot guarantee the listening pleasure experience.. . I am being 100% honest here. So you dont moan later!!!!. Its annoying but typical of my past performance re looking after my vinyl. Hmmmm. Anyway. So. Any good? I mean - perfection is so passe darling! Its the Used look... thats all the rage, didnt you know!. Now get winning and get chuffed!. Wow! The outer sleeve is in very good condition but has general wear signs .. no rips or tears or general damage .. theres a coupla wee indentatioins in the cardboard but its survived amazingly well!. Overnearly four decades. The inner sleeve is not torn or written on etc but is a tad browned .. and a few marks on it. Also the outer sleeve glue has dried up so it will need Pritt Sticking back again ... a two minute job ... I may make this sound a lot worse than it is .. I tend to describ e things pessimistically deliberately cos theres nowt worse than getting summat from someone who describes optimistically to get extra cash. This album is quite presentable. But the outer cover is not pristine .. in good to very good condition BUT the vinyl itself has grubby marks and fine scratches .. so dont expect to find it 'as new'. This is for the completist Bonzo/Stanshall 'thusiast who wants this cult album in his collection at a bargain price and aint so arsed about playing it too much!. Anyway - see how you get on .. speak to your genuine Seventies punky chums and tell them about this title and see if theyre eyes light up at its very mention! I demand you do this now irrespective whether or not theyre at work or sleeping ... now go .. and bid immediately! Thanks!
