Legendary Atlanta Soul singer Vivilore Jordan release, completely unknown, and here's the background!
I befriended her manager from back in the day, really nice guy, of course he had already been hit up about her rare as hen's teeth 45 releases, and didn't have any, which was ok by me, I liked hearing about his stories of recording back in the day, Tommy Stewart, what he was like, etc.
Now what he did have, was a box of these unreleased 12", Vivilore Jordan's last recording on wax from 1982, she rebranded herself Vivilore, the style of the era, dropping her last name for this.
Sadly, the box, which had been in a flood, contained completely thoroughly destroyed copies, but in an adjacent box with his personal collection, 3 sealed copies had been stashed away, still evincing signs of the flood on the outer sleeve, you can see the grime, he opened one on the spot, and played it for me, gave me the other 2 copies as a gift (which was awfully nice of him, he said go for it, sell one if you can, and the other, the remaining sealed copy is staying in my collection). I unsealed this, it's been played once, twice if you count the "sound recording video" included*
Her manager had sent some to local ATL radio, and a couple of record stores, but ultimately nothing happened, one store lost 10 copies in a mix-up with their dumpster, another further South sent a memo saying they'd been destroyed from a hurricane induced flood, and the local radio station folded long ago.
He's keeping his copy, he was proud of Vivilore's release, and was glad to have a recording for that period of his life.
The sealed copy I plan to keep, a fellow digger in France expressed trade interest, but we'll see Monsieur!
This is the only copy that's going to surface, the only minty fresh one, it'll be a decade before this goes on the market again.
*I NEVER use that Crosley to play records, it's an Ad-Hoc portable for Flea Markets, or Yard Sales to do quick sound checks, but the cables to my nice Turntable for recording to computer (not USB actually) are in storage, and this seemed to be the least complicated way to give y'all a taste!
My grading system comes from being a longtime collector myself, meaning conservative grading, and transparency :). NM EX VG+ VG VG- G+
Some terminology abbreviations: *DNAP = Does Not Affect Play *OIS = Original Inner Sleeve *WLP = White Label Promo *OST = Original Soundtrack
If a record is sealed, I will state "sealed" and presumed "mint", making sure it is flat, and such. Should a buyer win a sealed item, I am happy to unseal it for them upon request.
Packing is done using LP mailers, record outside of jacket in polysleeve. All records that reach $30+ in final bidding will have a MoFi or similar high quality inner sleeve along with OIS (If OIS is applicable!)
I have been collecting for about 20 years, and integrity is important to me; I want you to be proud and happy with your purchase, satisfied with accurate grading, and knowing you can have confidence in the record when bidding and purchasing.
At Rock2FunkYourJazzSoul we hope to have the honor of your business, and repeat business if another desired item comes up :)
Although the idea, practices is to absolutely avoid this for your satisfaction, if it happens, returns are accepted, money back, and for domestic purchasers in the US, the return shipping is on us. Everything possible is done to instead have an item you're completely satisfied with, but apart of integrity is standing by the customer, you.
Please feel free to message with any questions, comments, concerns, and I will be happy to return a thorough, comprehensive response :)
*NOTE: PLEASE ALLOW FOR 5 Business DAY HANDLING TIME, I WILL ALWAYS INCLUDE TRACKING #*
If You Win Multiple Items Please Wait For My Invoice As I Will Combine Shipping To Be The Lowest Possible Cost For You :)
*NOTE ON CURRENT FEEDBACK: I have 1 negative feedback from a "buy it now" rare first edition book, from a partial refund troll, who refused full refund because they didn't want to return a book they admitted in the messaging was a great deal. eBay is currently adjudicating the matter, otherwise I have only positive feedback, check the one's left from my last vinyl sales for a good idea :)* - It's sad that this has happened, between Discogs, eBay, and selling at record conventions, I've never encountered this before. As someone who values integrity, I believe 99.9% of people are great, and will do good by others.
