Description

The auction is for this edition of Wagner The Ring Cycle (Der Ring Des Nibelungen)
This is a Deluxe Limited Edition Box Set of 22 vinyl Stereo LP’s on the Decca label released in 1970.
This includes a 3 LP set with Guide and Introduction to Der Ring Des Nibelungen narrated by Deryck Cooke.
The 5 sets comprise as follows:

  • Set 1 – Guide and Introduction to The Ring Cycle by Deryck Cooke – recorded in 1968
  • Set 2 – Das Rheingold – 3 LP’s - recorded in 1959
  • Set 3 – Die Walkure – 5 LP’s – recorded in 1966
  • Set 4 - Siegfried – 5 LP’s – recorded in 1963
  • Set 5 – Gotterdammerung – 6 LP’s – recorded in 1965

All LP’s are performed by The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra with the Vienna State Opera Chorus conducted by Sir George Sholti.

Each set of LP's comes complete with its own information booklet, which are all clean and unmarked

I have owned these LP's for around 20 years and during that time they have been securely dry stored and not played.

The LP's are therefore in almost new condition.

The wooden box is also in very good condition with just a few knocks to the edges, the gold overprinting is in very good condition for its age (50 years).

If you have any questions or further photographs please do not hesitate to contact me.

Collection can be arranged as the cost of posting is rather high.

Please see picture for condition as this forms part of the listing.
Thanks for looking.
