WALKING WITH GHOSTS From Source To Sea
2015 11-track Vinyl LP record with USB issued by ECC 100.
Packaged in a sealed gatefold sleeve, brand new and unplayed.
When musician Simon Emmerson and his merry crew stumbled across a cache of seaman’s work songs carefully curated by Topic Records it was the beginning of an epic voyage. Topic Records have released traditional and folk music for decades and were kind enough to allow the musicians to ransack the archives, and build up the From Source to Sea soundscape.
This collection of rigorous work songs and sea shanties was fused with modern day folk music. The Walking With Ghosts band, voiced by Jackie Oates and Ben Murray accompany haunting voices from the past on our journey across the ocean. Sea birds fly alongside our ship, calling to each other across the melodies…
Birdsong plays a huge part in the From Source to Sea adventure. The Sound Approach, bird song recording specialists, donated from their archive too.
Each track ebbs and flows around the calls of marine birds recorded in their natural environment. While they sheer up the waves, we are just sailing past…
