Reissues: A 1957 version was narrated by Jiminy Cricket (Cliff Edwards) and featured new music. The original album was reissued in 1959. 
The album includes an overture followed by a musical tour of the four original lands of Disneyland.

Overture / Main Street, U.S.A.: Composed by Tutti Camarata and Oliver Wallace, with the song "Meet Me Down On Main Street". Adventureland: Composed by Tutti Camarata, with music for the "Adventureland Boat Ride". Frontierland: Composed by George Bruns, with music for the "Covered Wagon Ride," the "Golden Horseshoe," and the "River Boat Ride". 
Side B Tomorrowland: Composed by George Bruns, with musical themes including "The World of Tomorrow," "Outer Space," "A Meteorite Strikes," and "Next Target - Mars". Fantasyland: Composed by Tutti Camarata, with music for the "King Arthur Carousel," the "Snow White Ride," the "Peter Pan Ride," and "Storybook Land". 
The music on Walt Disney Takes You to Disneyland: A Musical Tour of the Magic Kingdom features a mix of original, land-specific instrumental suites and some existing Disney songs, all performed by the Disneyland Concert Orchestra. Adventureland: This area features an instrumental suite by Tutti Camarata, including themes like the "Adventureland Boat Ride" and "Orchids in the Jungle". The music captures a feeling of exploration with various sound effects like distant drums and jungle sounds integrated into the score.
Frontierland: George Bruns composed the music for Frontierland, featuring a medley of Western-themed instrumental pieces and snippets of established songs, including the very popular "The Ballad of Davy Crockett". Other themes include the "Covered Wagon Ride," "The Golden Horseshoe," and the "River Boat Ride". Tomorrowland: The music for Tomorrowland, also by George Bruns, features futuristic, space-themed compositions. Key themes include "The World of Tomorrow," "Outer Space," "A Meteorite Strikes," and "Next Target - Mars," using sound effects to simulate a rocket launch and journey through space. Fantasyland: This land is home to the most recognizable collection of classic Disney songs. Camarata's suite weaves together instrumental versions of beloved tunes such as "When You Wish Upon a Star", "You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly!" from Peter Pan, themes from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs ("Whistle While You Work," "Someday My Prince Will Come," "Heigh-Ho"), and music from Alice in Wonderland.
