WALTER GIESEKING Plays RAVEL: The Complete Piano Works - vol.1 - 3 Columbia Records 33CX 1350/1351/1352
Volume 1 33CX 1350 - VG+/EX
Small patches of faint surface noise at the beginiin, but does not really interfere with the sound quality. Otherwise clean and clear sound with very few pops/ticks. I would rate thi EX+ apart from the small amount of surface noise at the beginning. Cover is VG+/EX condition. There are a few light marks and faint creases.
Volume 2 33CX 1351 - EX
No surface noise to speak of and just a few pops/ ticks. The sound quality is wonderful.
Volume 3 33CX 1352 - VG+
No real surface noise to speak of and only a very few pops/ticks. There is a faint repetitive tick at the beginning of side 2 which is so quiet I had to listen 2 or 3 times to be sure it was there, and also one other faint repetitive tick at the end of Alborada del Gracioso which is also very hard to hear. Overall the LP is in excellent condition but I will mark it VG+. The sound is fabulous.
What to say about the performances?? Unique? I certainly have rarely heard Ravel played better. This is an incredible set.
This LP comes from a large record collection that I am selling on behalf of a retired Music Professor. There are a lot more to come when I have time to listen and check them.
