Description

Wanda Jackson  is an American singer, songwriter, pianist and guitarist who had success in the mid-1950s and 1960s as one of the first popular female Rockabilly singers and a pioneering Rock & Roll artist.  She is known to many as the Queen of Rockabilly (or First Lady of Rockabilly).  In 1960, Jackson had a Top 40 pop hit with Let's have a Party, a song Presley had cut three years earlier.  She was headlining concerts with her own band, which she dubbed The Party Timers.  Roy Clark a guitarist was virtually unknown at the time. Her country music career also began to take off with the self-penned Right or Wrong, a No. 9 hit, and in The Middle of a Heartache, which peaked at No. 6. Both songs also enjoyed top 40 pop success. In 1955, Jackson briefly dated  Elvis Presley while on tour. She also was inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Music Association (IRRMA) Hall of Fame in the category of Women Who Rock. (Born in 1937)

WANDA JACKSON - THERE'S A PARTY GOIN' ON-CAPITOL-ST-1511-  The album is in a poly vinyl sleeve with price tag still on it.

Vinyl has some scratches on it as it has been played ( prior to me owning it) I played this Lp this afternoon and side 1 was excellent and side 2 had some noise but not enough to bother as you listen. probably VG+ to EX for sound.

Cover is Ex and would be NM but for top left corner and bottom right corner are slightly bent otherwise NM

the Label as you saw in photos Black Colorband Label, Capitol Logo on left ST 1511 is NM

Near Mint (NM):  This is highest grade assigned to opened, handled records. The vinyl is virtually flawless, bright and shiny. A very minor, barely visible scuff or two may be permitted, but no scratches. The disc should play with no audible noise. The label is bright, clean and unmarked.

Very Good Plus Plus (VG++) - Excellent (EX):  Disc plays near perfectly, but may have minor paper scuffs that do not interfere with the sound quality. There can possibly be a hairline scratch or two but nothing that is obvious or affects play. Vinyl is bright and shiny; label is clean and unmarked.

Very Good Plus (VG+):  Some visible surface wear, very minor scratches and scuffs, but minimal impact on the sound quality. Vinyl will still have good luster; labels may have minor imperfections (small labels or initials, etc.) but otherwise clean.

Very Good (VG):  Vinyl will have noticeable scratches or scuffs that cause minor surface noise, but do not overpower the music. There will be no skips. Vinyl may appear somewhat dull and grayish. Labels may have small tears, tape marks, larger writing, etc. but still easily legible. There may be wear or deformation of the spindle hole.
