GENRE PROGRESSIVE
SUB GENRE HEAVY ROCK Quite Melodic in parts.
On offer here is an ultra rare album by the band Warhorse self titled on the original large vertigo swirl label catalogue number 6360 015.The current mint Record Collector book price is £300 This record only sold in tiny numbers because LP's were so expensive then at £2, the equivalent now of around £40.Driving lessons for example were 50 p per hour now £25,fifty times as much..See below for more detail and PLEASE READ VERY CAREFULLY.
SLEEVE
I would grade the sleeve as EX+ There is no writing or names on the sleeve. The unlaminated sleeve is prone to serious wear but not this one which is clean and bright . Hard to spot unless you peer at it closely in really good light is some rubbing wear on the inside of the gatefold near both edges. There is no wear on the top and bottom edges and the leading edge is straight. The words Vertigo Warhorse and the catalogue number are fully legible on the spine with no wear at all.I think anyone would be hard pushed to upgrade this sleeve. It comes with the vertigo original inner sleeve in excellent condition. The correct date 10/70 is on the inner sleeve.
RECORD LABELS
These are mint. The labels are clean and bright as if purchased yesterday from a shop. There is not even any spindle wear or marks and no names on the labels.
VINYL
I found it difficult to grade this vinyl and could not find any guidance on how to give an accurate opinion. The record plays on both sides without any noticeable background noise and my Linn Sondek can be unforgiving. There are some quiet passages but no problem with this album. The reproduction is clean and bright with beautiful clarity. There is no warping or dishing. However the record sticks near the end of side 3 on the A side so you have to move it on by adjusting the stylus slightly. If it were not for this fault,I would have graded both sides as EX+ with only the faintest wispy line visible occasionally due to taking the record from the sleeve. The matrix numbers are A 2 11 1 and B 2 11 1 so seem to be very early. The record has been professionally cleaned on a machine costing £1000s
Overall I do not think anyone will be disappointed with this rare L P..The sleeve is EX+.Apart from sticking in that one place, the vinyl is at least EX if it did not stick so difficult to put a grade on it.All I can do is point out the place where it sticks. It is just possible it was a fault in the original pressing batch because it has come to my notice that other copies suffer from the same fault.By way of example I have attempted to buy a record by the Saints Prehistoric Sounds.I made 6 attempts but every copy sticks in one place even when advertisers assured me it did not.To give everyone a chance,I have set a low start price for bidding so good luck to everyone. Please see below for postage.FREE TO U.K. BUYERS.I prefer paypal but will accept a cheque or postal order from U.K.buyers but I would need to allow time for the cheque to clear. Paypal only for international buyers.I have not excluded any country but records get lost and take weeks to be delivered sometimes arriving damaged.when posting to places like Italy or Russia .I will obtain a tracking number but please I can only send at the buyers risk to Greece Italy Russia and East European countries. If anyone is not satisfied,I offer a full refund but please do not record the album then return it because this defeats the object of E bay.I will pack as well as I can and will separate the record from the sleeve .The record and sleeve will be placed in a plastic cover. Good luck everyone.
